The Adrian Symphony Orchestra offers three Young Peoples Concert experiences per school year for students in grades K-12. Each concert is designed specifically with the targeted age group in mind.

Storybook Concerts serve children from K through 2nd grade and act as an introduction to live orchestral music in the “big hall” of Dawson Auditorium for young children. Each concert features instrument demonstrations, a performance by the ASO, narration, and a visual presentation of artwork created by local children.

Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program unites the classroom with the concert hall, giving students in the 3rd-6th grades the opportunity to explore music through classroom activities using student workbooks, audio resources, and soprano recorders. This yearlong program culminates in a lively interactive concert. The entire hall, from stage to the last row in the auditorium, is filled with music making! Because the program is geared to grades 3-6, it is ideal in preparing students to choose an instrument and join band or orchestra, or to sing in the school choir.

Beyond the Stage serves students in 7th-12th grades by taking a deeper look into the music, making connections to the music and relating it to the students. The orchestra’s recent performances in this category have included concerts as varied as music from Oscar-winning films to a Beethoven Symphony.

The American Museum of magic celebrates magicians and their magic. It holds the stories and the treasures of performers that entertained residents of the smallest communities and audiences in the grandest theaters. The American Museum of Magic is home to the largest collection of magic open to the public. Thousands of artifacts illuminate the stories of Houdini, Blackstone, Thurston and many others.

The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra offers a daytime youth concert- Themed concert designed for students to experience a live symphonic concert in Hill Auditorium.

The Brass Band of Battle Creek (BBBC) is a world-class ensemble comprised of brass and percussion musicians from all over the world that perform two concerts per year at W.K. Kellogg Auditorium in Battle Creek, Michigan. The BBBC offers FREE children's concerts (K-12) and instrument performance clinics for youth (grades 8-12) twice per year during the normal concert series.

All school children's concerts are performed during the school day (either on a Thursday or a Friday prior to a regularly scheduled BBBC concert) and are held at W.K. Kellogg Auditorium. These concerts are free of charge and can accommodate up to 1900 students. Instrument performance clinics are open to grades 8-12 and are a chance for students to learn from some of the world's most famous brass and percussion musicians. Clinics are hands on experiences and students will be expected to bring and play their instrument in a group lesson setting.

Clinicians are Wycliffe Gordon (trombone), Rex Richarson (trumpet), Steven Mead (Euphonium), Lisa Bontrager (French Horn), Marty Erickson (Tuba), Alison Shaw (Percussion). Clinics are usually offered the afternoon of a regularly scheduled BBBC concert. Discounted admission to the BBBC concert is offered to clinic participants. There is no fee to participate in the clinic.

The CSA supports students and teachers with a network of music culture that has expanded to include classical and folk (fiddle) music styles. Our students benefit from the camaraderie of a musical culture made up of other students, teachers, parents and other area music organizations.

As a non-profit organization we have been able to obtain grant funding for tuition assistance to lower-income students and hold annual fund-raising activities in an attempt to keep rated at an affordable level for all families.

The Calumet Theatre Company was incorporated in 1983 as an independent, non-profit organization to program events and encourage continuing restoration. The Calumet Theatre is owned by and leased from the Village of Calumet. The Calumet Theatre Company assumes responsibility for all operating costs for the facility.

In the absence of local tax support, it is funded by ticket sales, user fees, the State of Michigan through the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, membership dues, and other fund-raising activities. The Theatre Company is a member-supported volunteer-based organization (500-plus members) with a 16 member Board of Directors, 8 employees and over 70 volunteers.

The Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer, Inc. provides an extensive array of educational programming aimed at enriching students' artistic and academic experiences. Here's a breakdown of the offerings available at both The PIX Theatre and Gallery 194: At The PIX Theatre: 1. Plays: Students have the opportunity to watch various theatrical productions, exposing them to different genres, themes, and styles of performance. 2. Music Concerts: Concerts featuring diverse musical genres provide students with exposure to live performances and music appreciation. 3. Animal Shows: Educational animal shows offer students a chance to learn about wildlife, biology, and conservation in an engaging and interactive environment. 4. STEM Presentations: STEM presentations introduce students to concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through entertaining and informative demonstrations. 5. Plays about Historical Figures: Historical plays bring history to life, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of key historical figures and events.

The CMSD presents the world’s finest chamber music artists through a full September to May season of chamber music concerts; a 9-concert chamber ensemble series (Opus 9) and a 3-concert piano recital series (Opus 3). Complementing the concert season is a series of five Pre-Concert Talks, an important component of the CMSD’s goal to further an understanding and appreciation of chamber music in the community. Pre-Concert Talks are presented by Steven Rings, Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Chicago.

A key element of the CMSD’s mission is accomplished through its unique Ensemble Residency Program. Presented by the same world-class artists who perform on the CMSD series, each year the Ensemble Residency Program brings world-class chamber music performance and instruction to more than 4,000 students in metro Detroit schools, primarily in underserved communities.
