NADWC Demonstration Grant
The NADWC Demonstration Grant was created to accelerate public and private sector advancements in autonomous systems within Michigan's National All-Domain Warfighting Center.Grant Information
The Michigan National All-Domain Warfighting Center (NADWC) includes nearly 148,000 acres of training space at the Camp Grayling Maneuver Training Center and 17,000 square miles of special use military airspace at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center. The arena offers training for entities across the industry and the Department of Defense to prepare for the battlefield of the future.
The State of Michigan announced the Uncrewed Triple Challenge (UTC), a state-sponsored competition to drive innovation in autonomous drone technology. This competition will task participants with using uncrewed, autonomous drones to seamlessly transport a package across Michigan — traversing air, land, and water. The Michigan National Guard (MING), the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) have partnered to launch the UTC, which is open to teams from academia, military, government, and the private sector.
To enable the “air” portion of the UTC and unmanned autonomous system (UAS) operations within NADWC, the State of Michigan partnered with a systems engineering and integrated service provider to deploy a Beyond-Visual-Line-of-Site (BVLOS) system. This system will provide critical infrastructure to support UAS operators in meeting safety and regulatory requirements while operating BVLOS.
The application below will make grant funding available to both UTC competitors and companies seeking to demonstrate and advance their autonomous systems within NADWC.
