MI Future Mobility Plan, Pillar 1: Transition and Grow Our Mobility Industry and Workforce

To ensure Michigan maintains a resilient automotive manufacturing sector, the state is focused on not only creating new jobs but increasing the median wage of mobility sector jobs as well. This pillar also focuses on adding workers with mobility credentials and increasing the diversity in the state’s mobility workforce.

MI Future Mobility Plan, Pillar 2: Provide Safer, Greener and More Accessible Transportation Infrastructure and Services

Desired outcomes for this pillar include deployment of EV chargers across the state – with a focus on off-peak charging — as well as improved access to hydrogen infrastructure. Additionally, goals to reduce congestion and traffic crash rates fall under Pillar 2.

MI Future Mobility Plan, Pillar 3: Lead the World in Mobility and Electrification Policy and Innovation

Objectives for Pillar 3 include leading the nation in electric and automated vehicle friendliness as well as maintaining Michigan’s #1 ranking for mobility and electrification research and development spend. This pillar also focuses on becoming a top 10 state for growth in venture capital funding and federal investments related to mobility and vehicle electrification.
