Filming project in Detroit is eligible to receive a $139,927 incentive from the Michigan Film Office
LANSING, Mich. – A dramatic search for what remains of a post-cataclysmic world is at the center of “North,” currently being filmed in Detroit through August.
The project is eligible to receive a $139,927 incentive from the Michigan Film Office. The eligible incentive amount is based on an anticipated spending of $399,791 along with the hiring of 45 employees and 35 extras from Michigan, which equate to three full-time employment positions.
If you are interested in working on the film crew, please send your resume to [email protected]
On July 10, House Bill 4122 was signed into law, which eliminates the program whereby Michigan Film Office may enter into new film and digital media incentive agreements. The aforementioned project was issued an executed agreement prior to the signing of the legislation.
Any film or digital media project approved and issued a fully executed agreement prior to the signing of the legislation will be administered in accordance with the law. Michigan Film Office is no longer accepting applications for projects seeking incentives.
Michigan Film Office was established in 1979. The office assists and attracts production companies while promoting Michigan’s film, television and digital media industries.
