LANSING, Mich. – Innovation is woven into the cultural fabric of Michigan. Nowhere is the mastery of the many innovations in logistics and supply chain management more apparent than in the home of the automotive industry.
On Aug. 30-31, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation brings together the spirit of innovation with experts offering practical advice and knowledge of the ever-changing areas of logistics planning, warehousing, distribution, inventory management, production forecasting, staff optimization and data integration.
MEDC is sponsor along with Prima Civitas of the two-day gathering, “Michigan Supply Chain Innovation Summit” at the Ford Conference and Event Center in Dearborn.
“Collaboration between public and private sectors leads to better communications and more responsive economic policy,” said MEDC CEO Steve Arwood. “Specifically, industry and government working together will create a more proactive approach to global competition and challenges.”
Keynote speakers include James Blanchard, former U.S. Ambassador to Canada and former Michigan Governor; David Closs, Professor and Chair of Supply Chain Management Department, Michigan State University; and, Ermal Faulkner, Director of Purchasing, Americas, Ford Motor Company.
