Team Michigan Intern Cohort
The Michigan Growth Office is looking for qualified entities that have an existing pipeline to place interns with local employers or an entity interested in developing an internship pipeline program that can be leveraged to expand capacity and create even more internship opportunities with Michigan’s small businesses and startups for summer 2025.
More Details:
Creating and expanding pathways to jobs will retain and attract talent to Michigan and help grow the state’s population. Qualifying proposals will outline the current process for placing interns, how they could place intern talent with startups and/or small business (as defined by the Small Business Administration) if they don’t already and which employers they currently work with to place interns. Entities who apply are responsible for overseeing the entire internship application, selection and placement process, and are responsible for coordinating payment directly with the employer/inter. Interns must be paid a minimum wage of $15 per hour.
Project Objective:
This funding can support new intern program development or expansion of existing programs to offer additional internships. Qualified entities should be Michigan-based or in good standing in the state of Michigan and establish in the State of Michigan Vendor System, SIGMA for EFT payments.
Interested parties will act as intermediaries to connect interns with local small businesses and startups.

- Historic intern placements (and host employers)
- Ability to demonstrate previous administration of internship program
- Wage minimums for interns or other internship guidelines for employers
- Sample list of employers you have historically engaged or expect to participate in Summer 2025
