The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is hiring for the following corporate position.

Job Title and Level: Community Development Manager- Region 6

City/County: Region 6 (Field Based)

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Pay Grade and Annual Salary: Pay Grade 4: Grade 4 begins at $74,800- $88,000 annually. Additional consideration may be given based on relevant skills, education, and experience.

The Community Development (CD) Manager provides technical assistance to Michigan communities through the use of incentive tools that advance project development in both the downtown and surrounding communities. This position is responsible for reviewing and managing projects requesting assistance through the community development programs including, but not limited to, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Michigan Community Revitalization Program (CRP), Brownfield Tax Increment Financing, Public Spaces, Community Places and other sources.

This position may work a field based schedule. Selected candidates who have been approved to work a field based schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Supervisor: Charles Donaldson, Managing Director, Regional Development

Minimum Education Required:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

Minimum Experience Required:

This position requires a minimum of three to five years of related experience and/or training in creating and implementing economic or community development strategies; and/or experience in a business support role such as banking, marketing, sales, or workforce development; experience with public speaking; and experience with word processing; spreadsheet and/or database software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
