Buckham Gallery exhibits national and international artists of varied media monthly.In tandem with these exhibitions, the gallery also offers between 1 and 3 events per month that adhere to the exhibition’s overarching theme.These events include poetry readings, live music, theatrical performance, film viewings, workshops and other similar performance-oriented art forms.

The CSA supports students and teachers with a network of music culture that has expanded to include classical and folk (fiddle) music styles. Our students benefit from the camaraderie of a musical culture made up of other students, teachers, parents and other area music organizations.

As a non-profit organization we have been able to obtain grant funding for tuition assistance to lower-income students and hold annual fund-raising activities in an attempt to keep rated at an affordable level for all families.

The Calumet Theatre Company was incorporated in 1983 as an independent, non-profit organization to program events and encourage continuing restoration. The Calumet Theatre is owned by and leased from the Village of Calumet. The Calumet Theatre Company assumes responsibility for all operating costs for the facility.

In the absence of local tax support, it is funded by ticket sales, user fees, the State of Michigan through the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, membership dues, and other fund-raising activities. The Theatre Company is a member-supported volunteer-based organization (500-plus members) with a 16 member Board of Directors, 8 employees and over 70 volunteers.

In 2014-early 2015, there were over 23,000 people touched by a Carnegie program: an exhibit of quilts or glass or watercolor or pastel, a fun interactive Empty Canvas concert, the crowd-pleasing Adams Family concert, our Summer Full or Art kids day camp, or the annual Regional Juried Arts Competition!

The Castle Museum offers the students of the Saginaw Valley a great place to come learn about local history. They can experience first-hand what this area was like hundreds of years ago. They will see the progression from prehistoric times and its artifacts in our archaeology exhibits to the lumberjacks who made history with green gold. From the early businesses and inventors of the Saginaw Valley to the development of the City of Saginaw and other communities, students will learn about their county, culminating in our newest exhibit, Geared for Production: The Story of Automotive Manufacturing in Saginaw.

The Castle Museum also offers virtual field trips. Students of the Saginaw Valley and beyond are able to visit us without ever leaving the classroom. A Castle Museum staff member will share a portion of our museum with your students via the Internet. Teachers can choose from Lumbering, Archaeology, and Geared for Production: Saginaw’s Automotive Story or request their own based on another exhibit.

The Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer, Inc. provides an extensive array of educational programming aimed at enriching students' artistic and academic experiences. Here's a breakdown of the offerings available at both The PIX Theatre and Gallery 194: At The PIX Theatre: 1. Plays: Students have the opportunity to watch various theatrical productions, exposing them to different genres, themes, and styles of performance. 2. Music Concerts: Concerts featuring diverse musical genres provide students with exposure to live performances and music appreciation. 3. Animal Shows: Educational animal shows offer students a chance to learn about wildlife, biology, and conservation in an engaging and interactive environment. 4. STEM Presentations: STEM presentations introduce students to concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through entertaining and informative demonstrations. 5. Plays about Historical Figures: Historical plays bring history to life, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of key historical figures and events.

The UAG is free and open to the public. There is never an admission charge.

How to get here: The UAG is located on the heart of the Central Michigan University Campus in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, across from Park Library and next to the Bovee University Center on the corner of Franklin and Preston Streets. CMU is located just off I-127 in the cental Michigan corridor. We are an easy 45 minute drive west from Midland and the Midland-Bay City-Saginaw airport (MBS), and an hour drive north from Lansing. The CMSD presents the world’s finest chamber music artists through a full September to May season of chamber music concerts; a 9-concert chamber ensemble series (Opus 9) and a 3-concert piano recital series (Opus 3). Complementing the concert season is a series of five Pre-Concert Talks, an important component of the CMSD’s goal to further an understanding and appreciation of chamber music in the community. Pre-Concert Talks are presented by Steven Rings, Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Chicago.

A key element of the CMSD’s mission is accomplished through its unique Ensemble Residency Program. Presented by the same world-class artists who perform on the CMSD series, each year the Ensemble Residency Program brings world-class chamber music performance and instruction to more than 4,000 students in metro Detroit schools, primarily in underserved communities.

At the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History guests will journey the permanent exhibition And Still We Rise: Our Journey through African American History and Culture with different people of the time periods they are traveling through.

The Charlevoix Public Library provides inspiration, information and education for the community.
